Science Rising is a nationwide mobilization effort taking place throughout 2018 in the run-up to the midterm elections. It is not a one-day march—it is a series of local activities, events, and actions organized by many different groups.
Our shared goal is to ensure that science is front-and-center in the decision-making processes that affect us all—and to fight back against efforts that sideline science from its crucial role in our democracy.
Wonder & Skepticism: You shake my nerves & you rattle my brain
June 27 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Graduate students Anne Roessler and Jacqueline Patterson from Loyola and Northwestern respectively, will discuss their neurological research. Anne will discuss her recent work with electroceuticals. Jacqueline will talk us through what our nervous systems do to complete simple, everyday tasks.
Wonder & Skepticism is a monthly event at the Empty Bottle that seeks to connect early-career scientists with their communities over a beer. Our hope is to take science off of campuses and into a bar to create real world connections. Each event is moderated by a professional science educator, and features lively discussion and debate.
We hope you;ll join us for our June event, ‘You shake my nerves & you rattle my brain.”
